Through orthodontics, I have the opportunity to help people in my community attain beautiful smiles and live healthier, happier lives. I am truly honored to be an orthodontist, and always strive to give each patient the personal attention and quality treatment they deserve. I also take the time to teach each patient how to properly care for their teeth so their beautiful new smiles can last a lifetime.

Education and Continuing Education

Prior to becoming an orthodontist, I attended Murray State University and continued on to the University of Kentucky Dental School, where I graduated with my DMD. Afterwards, I earned my Orthodontic Specialty License from the University of Louisville.

Although my formal education is complete, I view my profession as a lifelong learning process. I love continuing to learn about orthodontics and enjoy incorporating what I learn into our practice, giving our patients the best care available. I attend seminars put on by the Kentucky Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) every year to stay involved with the latest research, technology, and treatment advances. The AAO is the largest meeting of its kind in the world, and I always learn a lot from the meeting and from my colleagues.

In the Practice

The best part of what I do is simply spending time with my patients. Building attractive and healthy smiles for them often results in stronger self-esteem and more confidence, and that is the most rewarding aspect of what I do. My patients smile more after treatment and are happier people because of it. That always makes my day!

I know that my patients come in looking for a better smile, but they also want a comfortable, positive orthodontic experience. My staff and I take the time to connect personally with each patient and want to know how we can make each visit comfortable and fun for them. Our patients really appreciate the personal attention we give, and they love coming to see us!

Family and Community

I grew up in Calvert City and have lived in Somerset since 2001. I have three children named Hannah, Jack, and Jared. When I am not in the office, I enjoy boating, camping, hunting, fishing, and, of course, spending time with my wonderful family.

I am also quite active in the community. Our practice has contributed to Relay for Life, God’s Food Pantry, March of Dimes, and the Special Olympics. We also continually provide support for our local school systems and sports.

My profession allows me to be able to make a huge difference in people’s lives in a relatively short amount of time. I get the opportunity to watch my patients grow up into happy young adults, help restore and improve my patients’ oral function to protect their teeth for the rest of their lives, and empower them to make educated choices for themselves and their families. It is incredibly rewarding to be able give children and adults the smile they have always wished for.

I enjoy being able to educate my patients on their oral health and empower them to make the best decisions for themselves. I take a teamwork approach with my patients, and together, we achieve the best smiles possible.

Education and Continuing Education

Orthodontics is ever changing and improving in research and techniques. I look forward to using my evidence-based and research-backed education to give each patient a streamlined, customized, and personalized treatment plan. I can mix new technologies and techniques with tested, tried-and-true methods to work together for the best smile possible. By using a variety of treatments and technology, I can treat each person as the individual they are.

Outside the Office

My husband Ian and I have one dog named Fig. We both love spending time with our large families and traveling to experience the natural beauty of Appalachia. I have four siblings and four nieces, so there is always family to see. I enjoy reading, cooking, and quilting, and can occasionally be convinced to play video games. I also dabble in the family hobbies of beekeeping, gardening, and antiquing.

I am also active in my local church because I believe it is important to give back to individuals and organizations that are integral in individual development. I have been blessed by those around me and want to pass it on.
